Don't fall for the pitfalls of success | Finding 10,000 Ways | ep015
February 15, 2021
When you’re faced with uncertainty, do you freeze?
Do you go into protection mode and try to “just” survive? Throwing things, and people, overboard just to keep your ship barely afloat?
That’s how many businesses react when faced with uncertainty.
When you started your business, you started it with the goal to succeed.
Not many people start a business with the aim to just survive. And, definitely not with the intention to fail spectacularly.
When you started, you probably also had the mindset to take risks.
But, as you saw success, you became less willing to take risks because now you had something to protect.
That protection mode is what keeps businesses from growing and more likely to fail.
Uncertainty is the opportunity to grow.
Sometimes the opportunities are obvious. Sometimes they’re a little harder to see like “Ghost Kitchens”.
As Chris Kremer, founder of The Success Catalyst, puts it “Needs never go away, they change.”
Opportunity in the time of uncertainty along with questioning your beliefs and listening to your audience in order to understand are a few of the topics Chris and I chatted about in Ep 015 of “Finding 10,000 Ways”.
By building small peer groups, Chris is helping business owners understand that there is opportunity to grow, especially during times of uncertainty, as opposed to just trying to survive the uncertainty.
Chris graciously shared some key takeaways from his extensive career experience for you to grow your business and avoid common pitfalls of success in this interview breakdown.
